North Spokane born and raised!

It began with a love and knack for reading. Delving headfirst into The Lord of the Rings and Shannara in middle school and falling in love with the storytelling. I read every fantasy book in the school library, and continued by going into the local ones. In high school my mother introduced me to the Wheel of Time and I fell in love all over again.

I hated writing until junior year of high-school, but thanks to a teacher who showed me the wonders of creative writing I found a new passion. My first forays into writing were abysmal at best, but soon enough I’d find my own style to write in and figure out how to put the multitudes of stories in my head onto paper. I find writing to be so therapeutic. The ability to put my emotions and thoughts into word is so refreshing and revitalizing.

To me, writing isn’t about money or fame. It’s about making something I’m proud of, the drawback is with such greats such as those I listed above that I fell in love with … it’s a hard ask. I’m proud of the work I’ve done though, and enamored with how it turns out once I get an editor to fix all of my mistakes. But consider this my disclosure, even when trying to write for more modern audiences, my influences and my loves, are epic sagas written by legends of old. With pacing, themes, and styles that are now considered far outdated. I want to feel proud of what I’ve written, so modernity be thrown out the window.
